The Cardturner is a book about the card game bridge, written by someone who's clearly passionate about bridge, and that love really shows. It's the kind of thing you write even if the target audience is just you, because it's something you want to write that much. It's really, really lovely to read

Unfortunately, The Cardturner also felt like it was aimed at an audience I'm a few years too old for, has a plot that didn't really seem to go anywhere, and more than one instance of That.. Isn't How Schizophrenia Works
