Despite some of the very cliche sexist tropes (like the fmc being  smart and somehow still doing the absolute stupidest things because she's horny), the characters and the plot make up for it. Some of the writing felt immature, like the narrator's first person inner dialogue at times. But again plot and characters male up for it.
