Between Two Kingdoms: A Memoir of a Life Interrupted
by Suleika Jaouad
For the first time in awhile this book made me feel something or maybe made me more aware of the fire starting to burn in my own body - an acknowledgment that as much as we plan for the future we have to pay attention to the now. I love memoirs to begin with, but Suleika’s writing and self awareness raise the bar extra high. Her ability to reflect on her experiences and to not be afraid to critique her own actions/thoughts is humbling. I read most of this book over the course of 12 hours because i could not put it down.
