Three estranged siblings come together seven years after their father's disappearance & their mother's death; which leads to the discovery of a murder covered up by their parents.

Pick it up if you want to read a dark, twisty + investigative murder mystery happened in a small town

Beth never left town & has been taking care of her mother for the past few years. She carries too much grief & has not been the same since her father's disappearance.

Nicole had dreams, when they were shattered she slipped into addiction & never got back. But she tries hard to be the daughter her mom loved.

Michael is the overachieving child every family has. He moved out of the town & he is very successful. & his life is perfect when seen through Beth & Nicole's eyes.

These three totally messed up people come together when their mom dies & tries to get the affairs in order.

They take a trip down the memory line through their old home VHS tapes which leads them to witness their father & Emma's body, the girl who disappeared in a summer fair 1999. This whole thing is being filmed by Laura & the tape cuts after this.

So what actually happened & why forms the crux. How far do parents love for their children to go?

This book was a perfect thriller, because from this point on you keep suspecting everyone; from setting the surrounding to all the small details here & there this book kept me hooked through the pages.

VHS tapes, journals & the three separate letters left by Laura for each of them - these three elements keep the suspense building until the end.

The story slowly progresses to the discovery of another missing person & a murder of the wrongly accused person for Emma's missing.

You feel like the knots of the story being opened but unfortunately they get tied up tight against another end by some other thing. The final information to untie it all lies within their own home & relationship dynamics between their family.

I absolutely loved reading this one, this was my 2nd one by the author. Her writing is so powerful you can feel the emotions of the characters. I should pick up her other books.
