this author really needs to use shorter sentences. trying to decipher the meaning of her prose was like doing my law readings. the sheer length of her sentences only added to how slow an already slow book was. honest to god, nothing happened. all this book did was fill me with a deep sadness but not even in a profound or impactful way. it was just vaguely depressing. i had to force myself to continue this book no less than 5 times. i will admit though, that there are some really wonderful lines in there.
