Off to the Races by Elsie Silver

3.0

3.5⭐️ this was a fun, quick read. Elsie Silver writes some of my favorite FMC’s. They are always so full of snark, sass, sarcasm and fun, it’s hard not to love them. Billie was no exception in this book and I loved her from the start. Vaughn took some time to grow on me, but by the end I liked him. This was a cute story and I LOVED the scenes with DD and everything with the horse races. It was both exciting and interesting to read about the care of horses. I also really enjoyed getting to know more about Violet Eaton after reading Chestnut Springs last year.

I liked the premise of this story and the banter between Billie and Vaughn, but for some reason I just didn’t fully connect with them together as a couple and that’s the reason for 3.5⭐️. The writing was easy to follow, paced well and I finished it in two days, but I still found myself zoning out at times. I did love the ending and I will read the rest in the series!
