This was everything!! It was so sweet but rooted in reality. This has the kind of queer rep where we have a main character who isn’t sure if she’s ace or Demi but also with the possibility that maybe she doesn’t or won’t know. It was really awesome to see her self exploration but more importantly acceptance.

Not just in regards to sexuality this also covers how it feels like when it seems like everyone in your life has moved onwards and upwards except for you. I loved how these two main characters connected over their differing histories of basketball and how similar they turned out to be in how they felt about their current life and achievements. I’m not a sporty girl and I was genuinely caring and following the structure of basketball and trajectory of going pro.

There’s also fostering (particularly a teen) that I can’t comment on accuracy but I felt was handled in a balanced way.

Alright, these two and their chemistry. I think this is technically a slow burn but it went by so fast with how interesting I found each of them I really didn’t mind. The way they explored spice with consent and acknowledgement of ace-ness was awesome.

Overall, I loved these 2 so much. I really don’t have anything critical to say. Highly recommend. Thank you to forever for the eARC.
