The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America
by Richard Rothstein
challenging
informative
reflective
slow-paced
I want to give this a much higher rating because of how in depth the research is and how informative the book as a whole is. It also gives a history lesson regarding discrimination and segregation based on race that is not in most schools. However this book is a rough read, it uses a lot of law-related jargon, kind of meanders through both time and space without clearly linking case studies, and is incredibly dry and a slog to get through. That being said, I think every American citizen should read this book.
