Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley
5.0

Synopsis: Daunis Fontaine has never quite fit in on her Ojibwe Reservation, but she decides to stay close to home for college to support her family. When a new boy on her brother’s hockey team, Jamie, catches her interest, it seems like a break in a hard time. But, as she starts to fall for him, more and more secrets about him and her own home begin to arise, and she is recruited by the FBI to investigation of a new drug. Agreeing to go undercover, Daunis has ended up in a situation far more dangerous and complicated than she could have imagined.

Thoughts: Ok this book is absolutely worth every bit of hype it’s getting. All of the characters are so well written, and the author conveys such a complicated sense of loyalty and conflict through the main character. I honestly didn’t see the reveal coming (maybe it was obvious I don’t know I was too wrapped up in just reading it!) and so I was really surprised! Definitely a must read for literally anyone and everyone.
