Shards of Honor
by Lois McMaster Bujold
I don't get the hullaballo about this book. This is the first book I have read by Bujold and it might be my last. I was looking through a list of Nebula and Hugo award winning books and saw that several books in this series had won awards, so I decided to start of the beginning of the series, which is harder than it looks. I choose to go with published order and this one came up first.
I thought the romance between Cordelia and Vorkosigan was forced. It felt like I had picked up a romance novel. All the events were a bit too convenient with everything happening to benefit the main characters.
I think I am going to try to read The Warrior's Apprentice next, but give up on the series if I cannot get into the characters.
