Cecily has finally hit her breaking point, and has run from her abusive husband, and landed herself on Wells Ranch. Austin is upset that this beautiful woman is going to distract his workers…and himself.

This book really pulled me in immediately, with the real fear and desperation I was feeling from Cecily. This part was written and performed so well, it really got me rooting hard for Cecily from that moment on.

Austin is definitely the “grump” in this relationship, as he’s been burned by those he’s loved before, but I loved watching him open his heart little by little.

I really loved the ranch setting; I could just see the beauty of the land in my head. 

I also really enjoyed the side characters, and it made me excited to continue on with this series and get to know some of them a bit more.

Audiobook notes: Both narrators did a great job! 👍
