Interpreter of Maladies
by Jhumpa Lahiri
Really wonderful collection of short stories.
I thought the author did a really brilliant job with each one, and they all felt very self-contained and complete. At the same time, the over-arching themes of the difficulties in life, and the connection of America and India was really beautifully done and provided a really cohesive experience.
It was a very moving and stirring collection, and one that will stay with me for awhile. And, overall, it was a pretty short read. I listened to it on audiobook, and I thought the narrator did an admirable job, which can be difficult with short stories that have different voices and POVs.
