Shades of Doon by Lorie Langdon, Carey Corp

4.0

Shades of Doon is yet another entertaining installment in the magical Doon series by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon. In this book, our heroines face even more challenges as they try to settle in and find a sense of belonging in their new kingdom and home. All is still not well in Doon, the wicked witch of Doon becoming more aggressive in her plot to overtake the throne. Veronica, who is queen of Doon, finds herself having to step up to make life or death decisions and Mackenna must decide where her heart lies, whether in Doon or in the modern world. Together Veronica and Mackenna, along with their handsome princes, must band together and save Doon once and for all.

I really enjoyed Shades of Doon and so far it’s my favorite book in the series. With the alternating viewpoints between Veronica and Mackenna, and especially that epilogue, I am immersed with both of these girls. They’re fun, down-to-earth, and lovable. I enjoyed both of the princes, as well. (Who could resist hunky and heroic princes, anyway?)

There is only one more book left and then it’s goodbye to Doon! I have high hopes for the next book and hopefully we’ll get a happily ever after, maybe.

Do you enjoy magical kingdoms, quirky young ladies, dashing Scottish princes, and evil witches? If you do then maybe you should read the Doon series, starting with Doon, Destined for Doon, and then Shades of Doon!
