Taming the Playboy by M.J. Carnal
4.0
The second book in the series and probably my favourite out of the three I've read so far.
Ryan West is your ultimate playboy, who works hard and plays hard and protects his heart. Then he meets Layla, Sophie's sister whose story we heard in the first book. The attraction is instantaneous. They both decide that they will continue to be with one another and have a bit of fun. Neither thought they'd fall in love.
What I enjoyed about this story was it wasn't just about them falling in love. Ryan had cancer when he was younger and it's back. Due to a miscommunication between the two Layla thinks she has been replaced by Ryan's previous bone marrow donor, but they soon sort things out. It's about supportive friends, and dealing with what life throws at you.
Layla is horrid to Ari, Ryan's donor, and in the start I understand as Layla feels betrayed but Ari has been nothing but supportive of Ryan. Then you start to get this feeling that something isn't right with Ari. Lots of drama and emotions weave through this story leaving me really looking forward to the next one. I liked how you are introduced to Jena, who is the main female character in the next book and their stories start to intertwine.
