I really loved the concept of this book, although I’m not the biggest fan of sci fi. However, with that being said I was still able to conceptualize the story pretty well, seeing as it’s partly a retelling and largely character driven.
I really loved the inclusivity and the characters were pretty lovable.
I’m excited to see how this story gets expanded on in the next one.
However, with that being said the writing is where this one fell flat. It felt like we were always hopping around, and trying to visualize the scenes was pretty difficult because they weren’t written very well.
It felt like we sped through really important moments, and I rarely say this, but maybe having this be a trilogy could’ve helped. That way we have time to sit with the characters and actually have a more fleshed out plot and timeline.
Otherwise, I am excited to see how the group takes down this capitalistic regime.
PS- what was with the random ass YEAR time jump?!
PPS-
GWEN AND KAY!😬 (but then GWEN AND ARI AGAIN?!)
