“It is well to be off with the old love, before being on with the new.”

A woman carrying a cursed jewel boards a night train to the French Riviera. When the train arrives, she's found dead, and the jewel is gone. Hercule Poirot is called to solve the mystery, which is full of passion, greed, and deceit. Will he be able to find the culprit?

The writing was easy to read and understand. The characters were diverse and lovable, with Hercule Poirot being my favorite. I enjoyed his relationship with Katherine, and Van Aldin's character was intriguing. The story takes place on a train going to the French Riviera with mentions of England. The most important theme in the book was love triangles and how to choose what to do. Agatha Christie handled it in a simple and direct way, which I appreciated.

Overall, it was a good book, not the best but not bad either. I recommend it to Agatha Christie's fans or anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries.
