Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

5.0

I am hard pressed to say exactly why this book is getting five stars from me. It is in the conversational tone. It is in Lewis's word choice. It is because he manages to distill many of the core concepts and goals of Christianity down to simple, everyday language. It is because I agree with him, even when I don't want to. Christianity at its core seeks to make its followers like Jesus Christ, and the process is not always how we want it to be. Lewis preaches this again and again throughout the book, and sparked a desire within me to seek to be more Christ-like, even as he reminded me that the journey will not be easy... But it is necessary.
