This book is hard to review. There were some parts that I instantly was drawn into. The creepy parts were creepy, but the filler that this story needed to go from a short story on Reddit to a full novel fell short for me.

The characters were hard to connect to, and there were some loose ends I wanted tied up at the ending that we never get answers to. I really enjoyed the concept of dealing with your inner demons in order to be left alone by the spiritual demon, but by the time we finally got to that aspect of the book, it felt rushed I guess? It’s hard to say a book drags at times and rushes at others, but this definitely does that.

For this being written by two guys that started on Reddit, bravo. Yes you could tell by the writing that they aren’t well versed authors, but you kind of sign up for that when you read a book that started on a platform like Reddit in my opinion. Overall I didn’t hate the book, didn’t fall in love with the book. Did I have a good time reading it? Sure. Will I reread it? Ehh that’s still undecided.
