bujobookjoy 's review for:
This book was assigned to me for grad school, but I really enjoyed it. It was applicable in both the classroom and the way we lead our day to day lives. The author shared personal stories and actionable steps to hold more space for innovation. I appreciated the value he placed on a growth mindset, and he seemed to be authentic in practicing what he preaches. I felt inspired throughout the book and it gives me hope for our future.
Favorite Quotes:
“Our job as educators and leaders is not to control others but to bring out the best in them.”
“Innovation starts not by providing answers but by asking questions.”
“It is not about skill set; it is about mindset.”
“When we view "sharing" as something that both supports and pushes us to be better, the big winner will always be our students. When leaders, educators, and learners commit to serving one another in an open environment, everyone's opportunities for deep and powerful learning can grow exponentially.”
