Really hurts to rate this so low but I truly couldn’t get into it! I absolutely loved the first book but this one felt like a drag to finish. I considered quitting multiple times.
The reason for it I think is that it felt too slow for my taste. I know Astrid was discovering her sexuality but at the same time I wanted to see a bit of a spark between them earlier. Also, I just didn’t really care all that much about the house renovation plotline, because it truly took up a lot of the story.
I wanted more Astrid and Jordan moments than we got, and maybe more of them falling for each other.
The character growth I think was also lacking, as I feel we were being told more than we were actually seeing.
It’s a shame I didnt enjoy this one, but I will eventually read the other one, and whatever else Ashley Herring Blake writes.
