We Can Be Mended by Veronica Roth
4.0
On a psychological level, yes, I understand why this story ends the way it ends. There’s a lot of emotion packed in these pages. How you feel about Four will determine how your heart holds up while reading this.
Be warned, if you’ve only seen the movies, especially the last one, you WILL NOT understand any of this story at all whatsoever. I half wonder if Veronica Roth wrote this because she felt bad for her fans or her characters after the ending of the final movie. (Character Arcs? Pfft… we’ll just have an alternative ending of some happily ever after!) This story, this small book, is the anti version of that ending. That’s what I like about it. If, however, you preferred that movie ending, then you’ll probably dislike this story.
