Emma by Jane Austen
3.0
It took me a long time to finally work up the courage to read an Austen book. I was hesitant to commit as I was having trouble with the language barrier. Many years of contemplation later I have finally conquered my first Jane Austen.
Probably worth mentioning that before I started reading this book I hadn’t seen any of the films. So I was completely in the dark as to what was going to happen. The reading itself was quite an ordeal. During my struggle to understand what was being said I lost quite a bit of the enjoyment of the story. Despite my difficulties I rate this book 3 stars because I enjoyed it enough to definitely read it again in the future.
The quality of this clothbound edition was lovely. Though be careful with the cover, the pretty detail does wear.
