Admiring Ash by Anyta Sunday

4.0

I was provided a copy of this novella for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

The first novella in Anyta Sunday's new series Love Letters was an adorable, fluffy delight that tugged on my heart strings.

Admiring Ash was the perfect series starter as it introduced us to a new collection of loveable characters (that each have their own novellas!). Starting off, we get to meet Ash and River. Ash was just lovely, and there were so many times I just wanted to give him a hug. He's our male Cinderella: he has only known poverty in his life, and struggles to make ends meet in order to provide for his high school-age younger sister; but then, he's awarded an inheritance from a grandfather he didn't know he had. He works as a housecleaner and librarian, and he's taken advantage of by all of his employers, but he never complains because he desperately needs the money. Ash is a sweetheart and I was so proud of him, watching his character develop throughout this short novella.

River is our Prince Charming: he's handsome, rich, understanding, and very sweet. He feels a connection with Ash as soon as they meet, but he promised Ash's late grandfather (whom River has known his entire life) that he wouldn't try to woo Ash. Although the more time they spend together, the harder that becomes ... for the both of them.

A 200-page novella usually doesn't leave much room for more than the romance, but this is an Anyta Sunday novel, and she is the master of juggling plots: amid the romance, you have the strong relationship between Ash and his sister, and there's plenty of little clues as to the next two novellas -- which made me so ridiculously excited.

Admiring Ash is a gorgeous little gem of a novella and if you're looking for something quick, light, fluffy and fun, look no further!
