L'Affaire Saint-Fiacre by Georges Simenon

3.0

Not the best Maigret I have read. Simenon tries to pull off an almost Miss Marple type of plot. Maigret's return to his hometown to witness an announced murder is the best part of the plot. Maigret as a secondary character, Marple type of investigator is not a good match. The confrontational meal where the culprit is found out is too long. Still, a subpar Maigret is still a good mystery.
