The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper
by Hallie Rubenhold
This book focuses on the women that were murdered by jack the ripper (and not their murders). The book is incredibly researched and provides a vivid picture of what it was like living as a poor woman during this time. As the author states in the beginning, she hopes to give these women their dignity back by telling their stories. She does. I'm glad I got to read about Pollie, Annie, Elisabeth, Catherine and Mary Jane.
