If you want a slow-paced, slow romance build up with small moments of romantic tension, and a little bit of chaos thrown in, this book is for you.
I thought the premise of the book was interesting, but the slow pacing at times lost me. The chemistry between the characters felt very minimal - I was hoping for more interactions and moments between the two, nothing grandiose. I also felt the main characters didn't have whole lot of personality.
The book picked up in the last few chapters but not to the extent I was hoping. The author built up a pretty interested Big Bad Evil Guy (BBEG) during their POVs but the final interaction between the main characters and the BBEG felt a little lackluster.
I discovered the author has religious ties when doing some research. Occasionally, the author would bring up Christianity (ex: "Christian name", etc.). The book could have done without that sprinkled in. It didn't add anything to the storyline or world building.
I did enjoy the author's writing style!
Will I continue on with the series? Maybe, but leaning more towards no. I will only pick up the series if I ever finish my ever-growing TBR and want a cozier read.
