Know Your Place
by Faiza Shaheen
challenging
inspiring
reflective
medium-paced
I loved this book.
Perspectives were well-balanced with personal lived experience, yet not overrun by ‘anecdotal bias’ (as Dr Shaheen criticises in the book), because of her grounding in statistics.
Now I’ve finished it I want to go back and highlight statistics so I can memorise them for future debates, haha.
She didn’t shy away from the reality of how bad things are but still managed to leave me feeling hopeful about the future. What a hard thing to do.
Really inspired rn!!
