Entré a este libro esperando un thriller ligero, sin embargo, me llevé una desilusión. La narrativa de Isabel Allende siempre ha tenido mis respetos, aunque en esta historia abuso de ella yéndose por la tangente, alejándose en muchas ocasiones del crimen como tal.

Aún así, los crímenes eran casi creíbles hasta que todo comenzó a tornarse absurdo por la manera en que iban “resolviendo” el crimen y la forma en que quien era la persona mala de la historia se expresaba sobre sus razones.

Destaco la relación entre abuelo y nieta, era una dinámica muy peculiar y especial.

I picked up this book expecting a light thriller, but I ended up disappointed. Isabel Allende’s narrative style has always earned my respect, but in this story, she overindulged it, often going off on tangents and straying far from the crime itself.

Even so, the crimes were almost believable—until everything started to become absurd, both in the way the case was being “solved” and in how the villain expressed their motives.

What stood out to me was the relationship between the grandfather and granddaughter—it was a very peculiar and special dynamic.
