The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

5.0

This is the type of book that I purposely read slowly because I didn't want the story to end. I adored this book, and it's for sure my favorite work from Silvia Moreno-Garcia so far, going directly into my top reads of 2021!

This is a historical romance with some light fantasy sprinkle into it, but the main point of this story is this messy love story, we have three main characters:
-Hector, a famous showman, with telekinesis abilities, a self-made man that comes from the low class
-Valerie, the crème of the crème, married to Gaetan, a really influential man of the high class or how they call themselves, The Beautiful Ones
-And last but not the least Antonina (Nina), Gaetan cousin, young and with telekinesis abilities that she can't control that is send to live with Valeria for her debut into the messy circle of The Beautiful Ones
This three converge on this story, two have a messy past that could destroy everything that one has built meanwhile the other is sweep into their lies and scheming, this is a slow burn but super satisfying romance, character driven with phenomenal characters arcs, that it even made me go from hating a character to absolutely loving it, showcasing the talent that Silvia Moreno-Garcia has. Overall, I for sure would be recommending and gushing of this book to everyone!
