This was hard to get through,  the first half was agonisingly slow,  I was reading it as s readalong choice or I would have DNF'd . The characters aren't detailed enough. I didn't really care what happened to them.   The action is over as soon as it starts and is often confusing and hard to follow.
It needed a hefty amount of editing it doesn't have enough content to weren't to page count.  Sorry I really did want to love it,  the concepts of caged dragon gods inside humans and the struggle between the ruling classes and the peasants sounded such fun,  but it just never delivered.  I won't be buying the sequel, it's a duology.
