Now I had been warned off this book by a reliable source, but did I listen? There it was near my hand at the library and out of curiosity I picked it up. Read the first chapter standing there..quick, breezy, slightly quirky..what is the harm of checking it out? Well,slightly quirky quickly turned slightly irritating. Nothing was happening, which became slightly boring until, oops it became slightly porny. Ewww, ick. Now these were real people, don't make me look at Manet funny from now on. Couldn't force myself through the whole thing. In the back the author lists recommended biographies of Eduoard Manet and his model, Victorine Meurent-- read those instead.
