The Dagger and the Flame: The instant number one bestseller! by Catherine Doyle
5.0
4.5 stars
I loved the worldbuilding and the whole concept of a city run by the daggers (assassins) and the cloaks (thieves) by using a plant to make shade and using it to cause chaos.
I wanted a bit more of the enemy side between Ransom and Sera, I did love them trying to kill each other a few times and I just wanted a little bit more to happen before they turned lovers.
Some of the plot twists and surprises were predictable, with only a few things being unexpected.
The book was very addictive and action packed, with found family, betrayals and secrets.
Can’t wait to see what Sera and her trio of friends will do next to help Fantome.
