I was completely blown away by this memoir! It is so beautifully written, filled with raw emotion and honesty. Never before in my life have I felt such hatred towards a person; Shawn is the absolute worst piece of crap and all his scenes made me recoil in disgust and anger. As the story progressed I also grew to despise her parents, though her mother in particular I couldn't stand. It's so heartbreaking to know how much Tara suffered at the fault of those 3 and I'm so glad she was able to break away and pursue her dreams of an education. I'm not surprised at how her family divides towards the end and I hope to this day that she's been able to maintain her peace.
