Happy Endings
by Alice Winters
This book grew on me as it went along. I've loved Alice Winters books for awhile now, but it's actually pretty clear that this is one of her first novels. You can see the pieces of the writing style I love emerging in this book, but it's not quite as fluid as in her later novels. That being said I still really enjoyed this world and look forward to reading more with these characters.
Havoc and Miles are absolutely entertaining. Havoc is the author's typically ridiculous, but yet adorably over the top character who just has you amused throughout at their antics. Havoc lives up to his name and yet as a demon he's not near as much of a baddy as he'd like you to think he is. And well, while Miles hasn't ever admitted to his feelings for the demon he has tied to him, the two have been together for so long that they know each other inside and out. Yet Miles is still surprised when Havoc allows their relationship to move past a friends place and he suddenly stops chasing ever skirt that moves and seems content with more than a one night stand. Miles is left doing a double and triple take with a heavy bit of What?!?!? thrown in. But maybe if he doesn't point it out than things can continue as they are, because he finally has what he wants with the demon he's been crushing on most of his life.
These two have been together so long that when they do finally admit (even without out and out stating anything) that they've both wanted more for a long time everything seems to just work. Of course they're also in the midst of trouble from their past stalking them and causing trouble in their lives. I'm excited to see where things will go from here. Some fun secondary characters and a demon who's always going to cause a little bit of crazy and I'm here for it.
