Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight: An African Childhood
by Alexandra Fuller
Don't let's go to the dogs tonight is a strange love story. Alexandra Fuller grew up in Africa in the 70s and 80s, through war, drought, poverty and unrest; her family suffered tragedies and yet they love the continent. This is a very raw and real memoir; the heat and scents of Africa brought to life, along with the racism and harsh realities of life for their family. It is also funny, as the 70s and 80s often are to us now, with the loose parenting and the hijinks that follow, and beneath it all a deep love of family and country.
