I really enjoyed this second installment of The Realms of Feilahn. We follow Dew on her quest to find fellow humans, but she soon learns that the journey and the friends you meet along the way are just as wonderful. Once again, Nick's stunning descriptions bring the cosy village of Rosecloud and its inhabitants to life like a painting, and the illustrations add that extra magical touch. If you love stories with found family, nature-reclaimed post-apocalyptic fantasy worlds and a vibrant cast of characters, I really recommend The Hearts Beyond Our Roots as a sequel or a standalone.
