I've been struggling to write this review because while I remember thinking this was a decent graphic novel, I can't remember why. I know I liked the art and the setting (30's/40's)- it was cool to see the beginnings of the Marvel universe we know today. But the story was very lacking and I never felt the story was wrapped up or concluded. It seemed like the big action (which was never really that big or exciting) either just ended or trailed off and became something else. Perhaps it's because I'm more of a DC fan and not as deeply invested into Marvel, but while I didn't dislike this, I didn't like it. I think I had been hoping to read this and get some excitement for the Marvel universe and read more but this left me thinking "eh" and I moved on to other graphic novels. Not the worst I've ever read but not great either.
