This book is elegant. The world building is so seamlessly expanded from the first novel. Nothing feels forced or contrived. Plot advancement is organic and unexpected in all the best ways, which I often think you lose in a sequel to a groundbreaking novel like Legendborn is. You fall in love with your characters in all new ways and welcome a few new heartwarming faces. The commentary about intergenerational trauma is *chef's kiss* I will struggle to read anything after this because nothing will ever be this.
