If you love the musical, I think you’ll absolutely adore this! While for the most part, it is very similar to the Broadway production, we definitely see a bit more insight into a lot of the characters - Evan Hansen for example.
While there are some things I love about the musical that unfortunately isn’t touched upon as much in this novel, I loved the shifting of different POV’s since it gave us a totally different perspective after seeing the musical.
I will say though, I’m not sure how invested I would of been with these characters had I not of seen/know of the musical? So I can definitely see the lowish ratings from non-musical fans.
