She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
4.0

Amazing first person story of a woman and her life from her experience as a child through many adult years. It's amazing that Wally Lamb has written a book that you would think to be impossible. If you didn't know the author was a man, you would feel like most women feel after reading it. How can this man get inside this woman and bring her to life with all her ups and downs. It's hard for me to believe Wally Lamb isn't a pen name for a female author. Naturally I know who he is but his ability to do what he does will amaze you. Dysfunctional family, rape, mental illness, being extremely obese. Love, hate, confusion, marriage, divorce, friendships, disappointments and also accomplishments. All the emotions that life causes. The deepest feelings and fears along with inspiration are present in this one. It's a book that was so powerful that at times I felt uncomfortable reading it yet it was well worth the effort. I believe this was the 3rd or 4th book Oprah chose when she began her book recommendations. She had good reason for her selection. I'll remember Delores for a long time.
