People Love Dead Jews: Reports from a Haunted Present by Dara Horn

My cousin recommended this book to me. The title sounded scarily creative so I was hoping that this book wouldn't just be a dry recitation of facts. I was correct. I felt as though she was just telling, e stories with the facts thrown in. But of course, all Jews unfortunately know that they are not just stories. It was well told and well narrated by Xe Sands. They both did a phenomenonal job with this difficult topic.

This book told of some lesser and well known events in history. As well as debunking a few stories we all believed we knew correctly. Some of the subjects are as follows: the Diary of Anne Frank, the myths of name changes at Ellis Island, the Auschwitz exhibition, the Jewish history in Harbin (China), the "righteous Gentile" Varian Fry, Shakespeare's Shylock, and the anti-semetic attacks in recent years.

This book was very easy to listen to. Very easy to understand. Very interesting. The author has studied Jewish/Yiddish Literature as well as Jewish history. I would be interested to see what else she has written.
