This is a solid road trip novel but it didn't get the job done for me. I was reading it for a middle school audience, and I found even the swearing and drug references and semi on-page sex were too over the top for even the most mature of middle school readers.

I really wanted to like this because Kiely was so stellar in All American Boys.
