It took me a while to really get into this book because it's much more off-putting/tense than my usual slice-of-life romance reads, but by the end, I really loved it. The protagonist was eerily relatable at first--an anxious 26-year-old lesbian who is averse to emotional intimacy, used to make embarrassing YouTube videos as a teenager featuring eccentric makeup, and becomes increasingly paranoid after her apartment is broken into. Fortunately, I lack Enid's interest in true crime and phobia. And my growing paranoia is actually more related to my apartment's rat problem than the break-in, though I suppose I would constitute the rats as unwelcome visitors as well.
Anyway, this novel really triggered my anxiety, but it had a good payoff by the end. So, I'd recommend, but approach with caution if you have a propensity for anxiety.
