The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule

4.0

This one was really good. I've had it in my reading list for a while but was a little hesitant because I thought it was going to revolve around a casual acquaintance from a couple of weeks of shared time at a Crisis Hotline. Instead, imagine you have a circle of pretty good friends, and one of them is arrested and charged with being a prolific serial killer. I didn't really anticipate the level of closeness and correspondence the author shared with Bundy. Such a weird and statistically unusual occurrence. The book also has a couple of newer openings and updates that follow the epilogue. Fascinating and sick stuff. A demonstration of how truly warped the human mind can occasionally be.
