It took up to 6 books for the characters, story & settings to mesh. It's nice to note that the story gets better with each book. Although, that made the reading process rather "aggravating" at several parts. I can see why friends like to read this series a lot but I wish it didn't need to take 6 books to do it for me. Perhaps it's not a bad gig for books to be released a year or more apart in a series. I skimmed more than 1/3 of the book due to repetitive descriptions. Be cool to see what next book holds but I wish it felt a little less like a see-saw and gambler's roulette.
