The Young Elites
by Marie Lu
Marie Lu...... I'm very pleased and very surprised.
I have to be honest, I did thought this was going to be another Dystopian love story,
but I couldn't be more wrong.
This is a beautiful example of a dark fantasy story. I love that the Young Elites world is based on Renaissance Italy. I imagined Estanzia like Venice in it's flourishing years of masquerade balls and architectural masterpieces.
And that is just the surrounding.
The characters were also very well written. I do think that Adeline shivers and trembles a little bit too much. I do imagining her a bit like a Parkinson's patient at the moment. Yeah I know, I know, if I had so much darkness and power in me I would also be shaking like a polaroid picture. So I do hope Adelina and her sister Violetta will control their powers, stop shaking, and become a bad ass team!
Marie Lu, Petje af! (Rough translation: My compliments!)
