all and all, i would recommend this book if you're looking for a slow intimate book. I was not surprised by how abrupt the death for Mateo, considering death is unpredictable and can happen anytime and place and there is no way for you to prepare for it.
The emotion really only started to hit for me at the end when all was said and done, i didn't much care for the side stories and how it sort of took away from the main characters and i feel didn't add much to the story for me, it just took me away from the emotion of the main two.
3.5 stars because it became boring and repetitive, but i really loved how the story could have gone.
