Ready Player One
by Ernest Cline
I wish I could give this book a 6 star rating! This may very well be the best book I have not only read this year, but ever! I know. A bold statement. There is so much to say. The cover does nothing to convey how much is packed into this exciting story where you not only get to cheer for the underdog, but you get to do so while reliving all of your favorite 80s pop culture references!!! I loved every minute of this book!!! AND it also holds a love story. This is Ernest Cline's first book and I can only hope it won't be his last. I truly did not want this book to end. This is one that I will definitely be re-reading in the years to come and be pushing others to read. When I wrote the following sentence (when I first got this book from a friend, I had NO IDEA I was in for such a treat).****A friend of mine highly recommended this book. Howevever he seems to think I may not like it near as much as he does. We shall see.********
The biggest compliment I can give this book (And I have never said this about any book before AND I'M A LIBRARIAN...is that sometimes when I think about the story/plot I forget if it was a book I read or a movie I saw. That's how vivid the plot is within me.
