The Pull of the Stars by Emma Donoghue

4.0

*audiobook* It surprised me how much I liked this one. Perhaps it was the Irish accent reading it to me. I tried to read it but the authors choice to not use quotation marks around speech doesn’t work for me. If you don’t have a special interest in historical medicine, or maternity wards, or the daily life of midwives/nurses… this one may not be for you. I found it interesting. The differences in medical knowledge past to present, or lack thereof. Covid, seemingly less scary than 1918 Influenza, makes this story so relevant. It was sweet, sad, joyful, and everything in between. I recommend if the topics listed above interest you.
