I’d probably give 3.5 stars if I could. I enjoyed the Finnish mythology and the more “labyrinth”-like, macabre world that she built in this book. But I had a tough time with all of the pop culture references - it took me out of the plot a bit. Although I realize that Hannah did come from the “upper world” it was more jarring when in the Underworld. But I can appreciate the author writing this after her Dad and brother had passed away and can understand the healing from writing this book. The pacing was good throughout the book and it did keep me engaged and wondering what would happen next.
